3 reasons why diets for quick weight loss won’t work

diets-for-quick-weight-loss1.jpgIn this microwave society, people look for instant solutions to their problems even in the area of weight loss. They look for diets for quick weight loss just like they look for instant coffee or instant noodles. They did not realize that these diets violate fundamental rules like being just liquid, unbalanced or unenjoyable. In this article, we will discuss the reasons why these diets for quick weight loss won’t work.

One of these quick weight loss diets are liquid diets which claim that they work by packing a lot of nutrients and vitamins into them. However, due to the high liquid content, these nutrients tend to be passed away in the urine. That’s probably why these liquid diets are not as effective as they promise. Next, let’s look at solid diets.

Solid food diets usually are of low-carb or low-fat which are unbalanced diets in itself supplemented by some meal replacements. As such, the body might not be given sufficient proportion in certain types of food that’s required for good health.

Even if these quick weight loss diets can work to a certain extent, will it be sustainable in the long term? As you can imagine, it can be quite miserable to just live on liquids alone or just some meal supplements.

Now you know that liquid diets or fad diets are not enjoyable and most likely not sustainable in the long run. If you’re looking to lose weight, you need to look at other permanent weight loss diets.

Water with lemon for weight loss

water with lemon for weight lossEvery morning, I drink water with lemon for weight loss.

Why lemon? I’ll talk about that in a moment…

Secondly, water is an essential component for weight loss. It is needed to break down food and convert it to energy in a process known as metabolism. Gladly, two thirds of the world is made of water in abundance. (I couldn’t imagine if we had to pay ten dollars for a glass of water, would you?) Walking or running for weight loss - which is better?

running.jpgIt’s probably counter-intuitive here - walking beats the heck out of running for weight loss!

Besides the scientific explanation that I shall explain in a moment, as someone who went about losing weight on two separate occasions in the last few years, I can vouch for walking…

*** FIRST OCCASION ***

Seven years ago, I woke up one day to realize that I put on around 20 kg after working mindlessly in running my business for a decade. Imagine the shock when the scale told me that I was 89 kg!

It took a few more scales to convince me that they were right and I was wrong.

That made me decide to run the marathon again. Immediately I put a running plan together and started on my journey. Half a year later, I wish I could say I did it with a straight face - yeah almost that is - but I had to call it quits after 25 km. Not too bad you would say, won’t you?

All in all, I lost about 5 kg after running for miles preparing for the marathon.
